OMIGOD!!!!!!! Legally Blonde the Mussical is supposed to be opening in the west end late 2008 early 09!!!! How amazing!!! Cast + theatre still to be announced but anyone think Dianne would be a good Elle Woods? I'm in split mind here, she'd be great on the comic side and vocal also but I 'm not sure there's just something. Tell me what you think

Being in the original London cast would be great for Dianne but Im not sure if Elle is the right role for her... Would be interesting to see it though and Id definitelly buy a ticket (but I'll buy a ticket to whatever show Dianne is in)

Oh, and that would make her Glinda #2 originating the role of Elle.

Ah this is true, I know I think she'd be great but I'm still not sure whether it's really 'her'. I need to write to her and thank her for the Q+A, not had a chance yet, in fact will do it right now

I really, really, really don't like the musical Legally Blonde, it's rubbish, so I don't want Dianne in it. The sad truth is, if she were, I would totally see the show even though I hate it, boo!

Aww that's a shame. I must admit I thought it was a joke at first but now I absolutely adore it! I get what you mean though, why do we see things we hate just coz someone we like is in it. Doesn't really make sense lol.

I saw it on Broadway and I kinda love it but I don't think Dianne would be a good Elle. I mean, she could be a good Paulette maybe, I know she would be able to sing that, but I can't imagine her singing Ohmygod You Guys! XD

This is true, I never thought of her as Paulette. Maybe a Serena but then more I think about it the more i agree that the role wouldn't be right for her.

I have to say I love Legally Blonde and can't wait for it to come to the West End but Dianne has said that she likes to do parts that are really different from each other to challenge herself and I spose with Elle and Glinda being sort of similiar, there's probably little chance of her doing such a role :cry:

but who knows! (well Dianne does I suppose! lol! :lol:

Strange as I was listening to the soundtrack as I saw this thread and I was having the exact same conversation this morning..

I wuv the Legally Blonde musical

I don't think I'm ready for her to leave Wicked yet :lol:

But there is a rather big part of me that wants her to play someone with the same name as me..

Hm, I think she'd be good as it, but what do I know? xD

i would die if she played elle, i would love her to play elle, god i would literally wet myself if i found out she got the role.

i would be so upset for her to leave wicked though as she was my first glinda and no other glinda will ever take that place in my heart that dianne has.

I haven't looked at this thread in so long. I'm not sure if it is the right role for her to be honsedt. She'd be a fantastic Paulette but I think that role is very likely going to be played by Mel B

I think Dianne is too intelligent to play Elle. I know that Glinda is a ditzy blonde slightly superficial character like Elle, but there's just something that makes Glinda that bit more serious and I think that's why it suits Dianne. Elle's not right fo rher I think.

Is it really coming to London? I mean it's closing on Bway today so clearly it's not *that* succesful. There's no need to worry that Dianne will play Elle now:P

It's supposed to hit the West End in February. I think it closed on Broadway because of the Credit Crunch and the Tour was attracting more fans than the Broadway show. x
